What a great milestone and major event for us today! Today we officially became incorporated. From our humble beginning almost 2 yrs ago with nothing but an idea, we have really blossomed into a forward moving and thinking company. We have one release upcoming in about a month and more on the way. We have even taken on our first co-op student to try and give back to the upcoming members of our diverse and wacky community!
Thank you to everyone on the front lines and especially to those behind the scenes, who have supported us along the way. None of this would be possible without you!
Well, the whirlwind of flying to LA in June can only mean one thing and that's E3. Again this year we went to E3 to peddle our wares and this year we had a clue what the hell we were doing! hahaha AND....Oh what a difference a year makes!
The trip to the LA convention center was a simple one and registration was, again, a breeze! I even demo-ed GAS to some people on the subway just to keep the playtest and reaction mentality strong. Let's just say that the way they reacted set the tone for the whole week! :)
Even though the days at E3 were packed with meetings, events, and the spectacle itself, there were some quiet locations in which we were able to make some solid contacts and get some great reviews. I felt, to be honest, a little like a carnival barker "STEP RIGHT UP AND SEE THE AMAZING ..." hahahaha. BUT...that's what an indie needs to do to get noticed in the room full of the big boys with their big shows going on all around!
The most successful points were the meeting with Microsoft's Business Development Mgr who was thoroughly impressed with not only the difference over last year (having a clue vs an idea and a dream) but also GAS itself! She even had me play it so that she would be able to video the gameplay to show her bosses! (Insert feather in cap here) The second was a chance meeting with a VP of developer relations for Sony which went extraordinarily well and will undoubtedly turn into some future IPs (and possibly even GAS) finding their way into the Sony scope of things.
Fortunately being shy and meek is not an issue and as such we were able to get a lot of media contacts from game reviewers and press to twitch tv hosts and youtubers with whom we will be opening up the world's eyes to the upcoming release of GAS!
We must have had well over a couple of hundred people from all walks of life and all kinds of positions in the gaming industry (from senior to novice) try their hand at GAS and the reaction was at worst "This is really cool!" and at best "I CAN"T WAIT UNTIL YOU RELEASE THIS!!!! I am DEFINITELY getting this game!!!"
I would like to extend a special thanks to Liana K who provided some insight and connections during the week! :D Keeping the Canadian love! :D
Now it's all over, and back at home...GET YOURSELF READY AS WE GET SET TO RELEASE GAS!! hahahahahaaha
We're doing the final touches to our final GAS build for us to show off at E3! The new artwork looks GREAT! With the new Easy/Hard switch you can decide if you want to play for the joy of the fart sounds OR get punished by the challenging gameplay!
The hard version level-2's will annihilate you!! (Insert maniacal laugh here!)
We'll post updates here!
